Operations Associate — Charlotte (Part-time, Hybrid)

WHO WE ARE

At SkillPop, we host engaging, expert-led classes and workshops.

We started in 2015 with pop-up style classes taught by community experts in Charlotte, North Carolina and quickly started scaling across the Southeast to Raleigh, Nashville, Atlanta and more. While the pandemic rocked our world and lead us to a major pivot, we’re back to our in-person class roots as of February 2023 in our home market of Charlotte — and looking for the right person to help us grow.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Operations Associate [Part-time, Hybrid]

15–20 hours/week with the potential to grow

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Operations Associate to join our team. In this role, you’ll manage the day-to-day logistics of the classes we run each month both publicly and privately (i.e., for teams and corporate events). You’ll work directly with our founder on a day-in and day-out basis and you’ll be the main point person for our part-time team of 5 class hosts. We’re looking for someone with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills who thrives in an environment where they wear multiple hats.

This role has flexibility on exact hours and the ability to be partially work-from-home, but you should expect to be in the office (Southend) or on-site at one of our class locations at least 2 days per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the expert for class setup and supplies. You’ll keep track of inventory, process monthly supply orders, and keep instructions for setting up each individual class up-to-date
  • Prep materials for individual classes each week and deliver supplies to our respective venue partners (Ballantyne, Camp North End, South End)
  • Manage our shift scheduling platform and communicate with the broader team to make sure that each class is staffed
  • Light data entry; you’ll support weekly scheduling by publishing classes to the website and helping build out the weekly newsletter
  • Help manage the customer support inbox by reading and responding to email requests and order inquiries in a timely fashion
  • Miscellaneous communication with students, teachers, and class managers via email + Slack to ensure that everyone has the information they need for a great class experience

REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Punctual and dependable
  • 2–3 days per week available to work out of our office in Southend
  • Ability to work both daytime hours/classes and flexibility to pickup evening or weekend class shifts several times a month, as needed
  • A reliable mode of transportation
  • A personal computer

This role is based in Charlotte, NC and not available for remote applicants.
